Serial number: unknown. Origin: Brussels, Belgium, circa 1880. Case constructed from solid quartersawn white oak with solid ebony inlay. Numerous relief carvings to front with carved inkwells at bass and treble cheeks. Paneled sides. Matching solid brass double sconces (original?) with matching lion head handles at sides of case (original?). Matching stool with leather upholstery. Ivory keytops; two pedals. Two bronze medallions on key cover, set in ebony circles and inscribed with the maker's name and "Exposition Universelle, Paris 1878."
